Our Staff

Our entire staff would like to welcome you to Authier Miller Pape Eyecare Consultants!

The doctors at Authier Miller Pape Eyecare are proud to present our staff members who have received National Certification levels. The American Optometric Association offers three levels of assistant training:

  • CPO- A person who has attained national recognition via certification by demonstrating an understanding of the concepts used in optometric care.
  • CPOA – A person who has attained national recognition via certification by demonstrating the ability to apply the concepts used in optometric care.
  • CPOT – A person who has attained national recognition via certification by demonstrating the ability to understand, apply, and interrelate the concepts used in optometric care.

Our group is led by the Laboratory Manager, Linda Schutt, and Clinic Manager, Joanie Smith, who have achieved the highest level of Certified Para-Optometric Technicians.

The certification involves hours of study as well as passing nationally standardized written testing. The CPOT requires an extensive written test as well as hands on testing with equipment and evaluation by doctors of optometry.

Our clinic staff is 100% certified. We are proud to support our staff and ensure they are the best trained in the area, and patients continue to receive the quality experience they have come to expect.

Billing Manager, Jean; assisted by Insurance Specialist, Michelle lead the staff of Billing Specialists to make your arrival and departure as convenient as possible and ensure that you receive the benefits available to you through your vision plan

Clinic Manager, Joanie and Assistant Clinic Manager, Judy lead a highly trained group of technicians who assist the doctors at all levels of care. Our clinic offers many pieces of diagnostic equipment which allows patients to receive a high level of care without a long trip to Sioux City or Omaha.  Diagnosis and treatment of many complex conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration are readily available here with a detailed explanation of treatment options.

Together Linda and Janet manage the Optical and Laboratory part of the clinic. Together they bring years of optical experience.  AshleyBrad & Pat join Linda in the lab to ensure that only the highest quality materials are dispensed to our patients.

Sandy, Kim, Janet, Kristy and Angela are most often found in the frame room helping each patient select the frame style and lens type that works best for their prescription as well as their work environment and wearing comfort.  We pride ourselves on our extensive frame selection and the use of only the highest quality lens brands and materials.  Our staff receives continual training as new lens technology is developed.
